The holiday season is without any doubt the most exciting time of the year. It is highly expected by children and grown-ups, and it’s the time when people try to be better and care more about the others. Christmas is also about receiving presents, engaging in fun activities and exciting festivals and organize parties. All over the world, people attend festivals and events to honor the birth of Jesus and welcome the generous Santa Claus. One of these special events is Santa’s Enchanted Forest, taking place in Florida, Southwest Miami-Dade.

Feeling Christmas in Miami is quite difficult because of the warm days, the beaches, the ocean and the long days. It feels more like summer than Christmas. Still, thanks to the Santa’s Enchanted Forest, people have the chance to embrace the holiday spirit. This festival is organized in the Tropical Park, between Palmetto Expressway and Bird Road. This place will have Christmas written all over it due to the amazing holiday displays and lights that will lure both locals and tourists. People can visit this winter wonderland from November 2, 2012 until January 6, 2013.

Santa’s Enchanted Forest features 3 million lights, delivering an impressive feeling of greatness and joy. The center of the Tropical Park will accommodate a tall Christmas tree. It will measure 90 feet in height and it’s going to be lit from top to bottom. Moreover, there will be displays presenting popular animated characters and a workshop where Santa will prepare his gifts for the little ones. Children can sit in Santa’s lap and state what they want for Christmas. If they miss him, they can send him a letter with their wishes.

In addition, the magnificent Santa’s Enchanted Forest features a one-of-a-kind carnival with nine live shows, pony rides, a petting zoo and no less than 100 rides. There are also food tents with goodies like funnel cake and candy apples. Visitors will have the chance to taste international cuisine from countries like Italy, Mexico and Greece. Besides the 20 rides for children, the little ones will also have fun with the carnival games. They can win souvenirs and Christmas related presents.

The Santa’s Enchanted Forest will be opened from Monday to Sunday, between 12 am and 5 pm. The admission to the Largest Christmas Free Carnival and Theme Park in the World is $24.86 for children under 9 and seniors and $34.49 for grownups. This ticket includes the park and carnival admission and the rides. Children under 2 years of age are allowed to enter for free. Those who are enthusiastic about the Santa’s Enchanted Forest can opt for a season pass. This option will allow them to enter the park every night except Christmas Day and Saturdays. The season pass also includes VIP access, meaning that the pass holders don’t have to wait in lines. This pass costs $38 for seniors and children 3-9 and $49 for adults. Parking is free and there are plenty of spaces available nearby the Tropical Park.
